Ducati sets new sales record with 55,451 motorcycles

Ducati has done it again for the seventh consecutive year as the firm has set another yearly sales record. Ducati has delivered 55,451 motorcycles worldwide in 2016, which was their 90th anniversary. Sales were said to be up 1.2% compared to 2015. USA was the firm’s largest market with 8,787 motorcycles. Other countries that showed positive growth were Italy, Spain, Germany, China, Brazil and Argentina. The bikes that sold well was the MST Enduro and the whole Multistrada family. The Hypermotad 939 and the new XDiavel too contributed to the increase in sales. The Ducati Scrambler improved their performance with a total of 15,500 bikes being delivered.

“Ending the year of our 90th anniversary with yet another record is a source of immense pride and satisfaction,” says Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding.

“2016 was the seventh consecutive growth year for Ducati, clearly confirming the soundness of the Bologna-based group’s strategy and skills.”
